Krispy Kreme UK, the doughnut retailer, has seen EBITDA rise 23.3% to £4.2m in the year to 31 January and said it plans “considerable” growth over the coming years.
Pre-tax profit increased from £589,000 to £1.019m in the period on turnover up 26.4% to £42.3m. Operating profit, net of adjustments for foreign exchange losses, were up 41% to £1.4m.
Core like-for-likes, excluding the impact of new openings, grew 3.5%. The firm said 100,000 people visit its stores.
The firm opened seven sites in the year and operated 45 at 31 January. “There are plans to grow this considerably over forthcoming years. Three further stores have been opened in April/May 2012, at sites in Merryhill, High Wycombe and Hull.
The firm expanded its wholesale business with the introduction of further in-store cabinets with Tesco, Moto and Welcome Break. ROadchef was also added to its portfolio.
